Final Reflection for WRT 105

       As I reflect on my work and assignments from WRT 105 this semester, I think about the knowledge I gained from the course such as writing strategies and techniques that has overall improved my writing. The most significant thing I learned about myself as a writer is that good writing does not limit to one specific structured formula. One of the readings that will stick with me the most is  Footstools and Furniture because I have learned that high- level college writing is not developed through one specific structure. Also, this reading has made me come to the realiz ation that structured writing lac ks complexity because the writer does not have the opportunity to incorporate his or her own thoughts into the writing piece.          Another artifact that influenced my writing was Arguing in Communities reading by Gary Hatch. Uber and Taxi Surcharges

              More than 1.6 million people commute to New York City everyday relying on transportation services such as Uber and taxi cab drivers. Commuters rely on certain transportation services such as Ubers and taxi cabs because these services are easy to access. For instance, people can get a hold of a taxi cab by simply raising their hand off the side of a busy street in New York City. Uber is another transportation service that is convenient as a commuter can request an Uber driver through an app on his or her phone.   The New York State Governor and Legislature has issued surcharges on taxi and Uber transportation in Manhattan that will take into effect starting this month. The surcharge for Uber will be $2.75 and for taxi cabs $2.00. The reason as to why surcharges will be issued to commuters using taxi and Uber transportation in Manhattan is in efforts to help raise money to fix ailing subways in New York City.
